Millions Back in Lockdown in Communist China

As most countries have returned to normal and learning to live with the virus, much of the population remains socially isolated to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in Communist China by following the harsh Zero-Covid policy.

Communist China has placed millions of its citizens under renewed lockdowns following a fresh outbreak of Covid-19 in Wuhan a few days ago. It has been reported that more than 1000 new Covid cases have been reported nationwide, including in Wuhan and other cities.

People in China are frustrated due to these ultra-strict and riotous measures causing more instability in the country. Xi Jinping and his party have repeatedly vowed to stick to its zero-tolerance response to Covid-19 and implement lockdowns to prevent the outbreak at any cost.

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its leaders care little about the country’s economy, people’s mental health, business closures, and unemployment. The dynamic Zero-Covid strategy is inextricably linked to Xi Jinping, and its success is his success, and if it fails, nobody dares to question him.

Across the globe, people have adapted to live with the virus, but China stands alone, clinging to a response designed to quash every outbreak irrationally. In a country where a dictator rules, not much more can be expected.
