The United States provided $725 million in military aid to Ukraine for ammunition and military vehicles

The U.S. Department of State and the Department of Defense announced today that the United States will provide another $725 million (NT$2.39 million) in military assistance to Ukraine to transport ammunition and military vehicles. This is to enhance Ukraine’s ability to resist Russian invasion.

A media reported that the U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said in a statement that Russia has launched cruel missile attacks on civilians across Ukraine. He also added that there is increasing evidence that the Russian army has committed atrocities, which led the United States to provide military assistance.

In another statement, the U.S. Department of Defense said that the latest plan includes more ammunition for highly mobile multi-launch rocket systems (HIMARS).

Blinken said that since the Biden administration took office, the total amount of U.S. military aid to Ukraine has accumulated $18.5 billion.

This military assistance will also include anti-tancicle weapons, high-speed anti-radiation missiles (HARMS), vehicles and medical supplies.

Blinken said, “We will continue to stand with the people of Ukraine as they defend their freedom and independence with extraordinary courage and boundless determination.”

“The capabilities we are delivering are carefully calibrated to make the most difference on the battlefield for Ukraine,” he added.
