CCP Politician Liu Yanping Sentenced To Death For Bribery

The Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) reported that the Intermediate People’s Court of Changchun City in Jilin Province on January 10th publicly sentenced Liu Yanping, former senior discipline inspector and former head of the Disciplinary Inspection and Supervision team sent by the Communist Party Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision, with a death sentence with a two-year reprieve for accepting bribes.

The court also revoked his political rights for life and seized all his assets. Once the two-year probation of execution has expired, he will be commuted to a life sentence without further commutation or parole.

Recently, another former CCP member Fu Zhenghua, who was a former Minister of Justice also received a reprieved death sentence. He confessed his guilt on a CCTV program under Xi Jinping’s order. Since the former Public Security Minister Sun Lijun’s arrest Last year, Fu and Liu were arrested one after another. A few months ago, Miles Guo revealed that the former vice president Zeng Qinghong was trying to plead with Xi for a 15-year jail time for Liu Yanping.

But now, it appears that with the successful re-election at the 20th National Congress and the gradual disintegration of former president Jiang Zemin’s and Zeng’s factions, Xi’s power within the Party is unrivaled.
