Ukraine Targets Russians Shooting at or From Nuclear Plant

Ukrainian President Zelensky warned on Aug 13th that Ukraine is targeting Russian soldiers shooting at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in the southeastern of the country or using the nuclear power plant as a base to shoot from.

Russian troops captured the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant early in the war, the largest one in Europe. It is reported that Kyiv and Moscow authorities have repeatedly accused each other of multiple shelling the facility.

“Every Russian soldier who either shoots at the plant or shoots using the plant as cover must understand that he becomes a special target for our intelligence agents, for our special services, for our army,” Zelensky said in an evening address.

The Ukrainian intelligence agency said earlier that Russian forces had launched fresh “provocative” operations around the nuclear plant. Vladimir Rogov, a local Russian-installed official in the Zaporizhia region, posted on Telegram accusing the Ukrainian army of shelling the plant.
