On August 8th, combat-focused joint drills in the air and sea area surrounding Taiwan Island were still being carried out by the Party’s People’s Liberation Army’s (PLA) Eastern Theater of Operations. The military exercise, according to official Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) media accounts, was centered on planning coordinated anti-submarine and sea assault operations.
Previously, the Chinese PLA has held three days of military drills since the fourth of this in retaliation for U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s trip to Taiwan.
