CCP Used Social Media and Fake News to Smear Mr. Miles Guo

On August 4th, the online security firm Mandiant noted in a report that 72 fake news sites in at least 11 languages have been criticizing Western society for a long time and refuting Western criticism of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). There are also a number of suspected CCP-run social media accounts that have been spreading content aligned with the CCP’s strategic interests for a long time.

Upon investigation, these fake news websites and social media accounts are associated with a public relations firm of the CCP called Shanghai Haicom Technology. Shanghai Haicom offers content creation and marketing services in 100 countries in at least 40 different languages.

The company’s online communication activities heavily promote the CCP’s so-called positive values and various policies of the CCP Government. The propaganda produced by the company includes criticism of the U.S. and its allies, rebranding of Xinjiang’s international image, attempts to cover up the CCP’s culpability for the Xinjiang massacre, and support for the CCP’s meddling in Hong Kong’s democratic elections in the region.

In addition, these websites and social media accounts fabricate false messages to discredit Miles Guo, founder of the Whistle Blower Movement and German anthropologist Adrian Zenz, who is studying the human extinction in Xinjiang.
