Al Qaeda Leader Killed by U.S. Military after Months of Plan

It is reported on Aug 2nd , Senior Biden administration officials said that after months of sophisticated planning, Al-Qaida leader Ayman Al-Zawahiri, who lived in a residential area of Kabul, Afghanistan, was killed in a quick with lightning-fast attack.

Zawahiri, who was Osama bin Laden’s second in command during the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks had been successfully removed by U.S. forces more than 20 years later. According to an unnamed administration official who disclosed on Tuesday that the kill order was issued by the White House.

U.S. intelligence agencies built a network to first identify Zawahiri’s family members and then gradually target the terrorist leader for elimination. President Biden insisted on an operational approach that caused the least amount of collateral damage. The incident occurred last Saturday when Zawahiri was standing on a residential balcony while his family was on the other side of the house, he was hit by a rocket carried by a drone.

The officials said Taliban officials knew Zawahiri was there and quickly removed his family in an attempt to cover up evidence of his presence.

The official added: “Zawahiri continued to pose an active threat to U.S. persons, interests and national security, we will not allow Afghanistan to become a safe haven for terrorists who might bring harm to Americans.”

The Taliban have accused the United States of violating the peace deal by launching attacks on residential areas in Kabul.

Security experts believed this wave of action proofs the U.S. can carry out attacks with precision without setting foot on Afghan territory.
