Taiwan Presidential Office Website Hacked by Overseas Cyberattack

Presidential Office spokesperson Chang Tun-Han noted this evening that the website of the Presidential Office came under a DDoS attack from outside of country in the afternoon. The attack traffic was 200 times higher than on normal days. As a result, the official website was temporarily unable to display content, however once the Presidential Office corrected the issue, normal operations were resumed within 20 minutes.

Chang Tun-Han said that government authorities will keep stepping up monitoring in response to the foreign forces’ ongoing complex information operations. All efforts are in order to protect national information and communications security and the reliable operation of vital infrastructure.
