Brazilian Meat Exports To Shanghai Disrupted Due To Indefinite Lockdown

On April 15, it was reported that since the recent outbreak of the CCP virus in Shanghai, Brazil’s meat exports to Shanghai port have been interrupted due to the CCP’s strict restriction policies.

Data showed that Communist China is the largest consumer of Brazilian meat. In 2021, more than 720,000 tons of beef and more than 640,000 tons of chicken were imported by China. Among them, Shanghai is the main gate for Brazilian meat exports to enter. However, since the end of March this year, Shanghai’s epidemic containment policy has halted the import of meat, and a large number of containers containing frozen food are backlogged at the port.

A major Brazilian meat exporter has canceled the loading of three containers going to China, while a freight company has had to rearrange the destination to Xingang and Ningbo as alternatives. Another Brazilian Export company has suspended pre-order service due to this effect.
