Sullivan Says US Will Ensure CCP’s Invasion Of Taiwan Never Happens

On the other hand, it is reported that on April 14th, US White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said that the US government is closely monitoring the CCP’s attempt to unilaterally change the status quo in the Taiwan Strait, in response to which the government will take all possible measures to ensure that the CCP does not invade Taiwan.

Sullivan mentioned that over recent weeks, the US has consulted and reached a consensus with allies and partners, including Europe, that wars of aggression are not only taking place in Europe, but that they may again occur in the Indo-Pacific region. For this reason, the West, led by the US, should send a clear warning message that any type of aggression is unacceptable wherever it happens.

Different from the situation with Ukraine,Taiwan’s relationship and security partnership with the US is guided by the Taiwan Relations Act. Therefore, the US will take every possible step to ensure that the CCP’s invasion of Taiwan never happens. But Sullivan also warned that the CCP is carefully monitoring the situation in Ukraine to learn lessons from the conflict, including how those could be applied to Taiwan.
