Japan Further Eases COVID Border Control Restrictions

The Japanese government has further relaxed border controls starting from April 10th, raising its daily cap on foreign arrivals to around 10,000 from the current 7,000.

The Japanese government also said that it will gradually relax the restrictions in the future and will carefully consider the timing and scale of the relaxation given the recent resurgence of the pandemic.
At present, Japan has reopened the application for foreigners to enter the country except for tourism, and it is expected to increase in students and business travelers from foreign countries. Japanese media reported that this would help the restart tourist applications in the future, contributing to the early recovery of Japan’s economic activities.
