More Western Countries Impose Restrictions on Technology Companies in Communist China

On March 25, BBC News reported that if TikTok remains owned by a company in Communist China, the Biden administration is demanding that TikTok must be separated from its parent company, ByteDance, which is based in Beijing. Otherwise, the use of the TikTok application will be completely banned.

A growing number of Western countries are taking action against other technology companies in Communist China over security concerns. Governments in Canada, Belgium, Denmark, New Zealand, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and the United States have banned the use of the TikTok app. The European Union has instructed its staff to remove the app from their phones and advised them to delete TikTok from their personal phones if they have installed their organization’s official apps. India and Afghanistan have banned TikTok together.
