PLA Military Aircrafts Interfere Taiwan With Up to 71 Sorties

Recently, U.S. President Joe Biden signed the Fiscal 2023 National Defense Authorization Act into law and the CCP expressed its strong dissatisfaction, saying it “will never get away with it,” and responded by dispatching as many as 71 military sorties to harass Taiwan.

The MND, Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense said that from 6 A.M. on December 25th to 6 A.M. on December 26th, a total of 71 PLA military aircraft and seven ships were detected operating in the waters and airspace around Taiwan, including as many as 47 military aircraft that crossed the centerline of the Taiwan Strait and entered Taiwan’s southwestern airspace, the largest number of PLA military aircraft to disturb Taiwan this year.

The MND condemned what the CCP did, once again highlighting its mentality of settling differences by force and undermining regional peace and stability. It also said that in response to the PLA, Taiwan’s military will use mission aircraft, ships, and shore-based missile systems to closely monitor and respond, as well as use the C4ISR system to comprehensively grasp relevant developments, and dispatch troops to appropriately respond in accordance with the principles of “guarding the centerline, guarding territorial waters, and guarding sovereignty.”
