Tibetans in India Initiate Demonstration in Support of the White Paper Protest Movement

On December 2, about 150 Tibetan exiles rallied in New Delhi, India to express solidarity with Chinese protestors in China against Communist China’s ‘Zero-COVID’ policy.

It is reported that the demonstration was organized by the Tibetan Youth Congress (TYC), supporters of the Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama. The protesters called for the Chinese Communist Party and the party leader Xi Jinping to step down, and chanted “Stop the genocide in China” and “Free Tibet, Free China.” Tenzin Tsundue, a writer and representative member of TYC, said he was excited that Chinese people are speaking out against restrictions and demanding freedom and democracy.

This march is sending the message “we stand with you” to Chinese protestors. The Tibetan government-in-exile expressed deep concern about the situation in China and stated that under the restrictions of the ‘zero-COVID’ policy and lockdown measures, people can neither move freely nor have access to sufficient food and effective medical care, as well as losing their livelihoods and suffering from mental anguish.
