One-fifth of Russian Troops Defeated in Ukraine

The Russian army is suffering heavy losses, mainly in manpower. A fifth of the Russian armed forces fighting in Ukraine were defeated.
Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Valerii Zaluzhnyi said in a Telegram post following a phone conversation with U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman, General Mark Milley.

“I maintain a constant dialogue with Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the United States, General Mark Milley. In today’s phone conversation, we once again checked out Russian losses in this war. We record the enemy is suffering significant losses, primarily in manpower – one-fifth of Russian armed forces units involved in hostilities in Ukraine have been destroyed,” Zaluzhnyi said. In addition, Zaluzhnyi briefed the operation, emphasizing that hostilities were taking place 1,300 kilometers from the front. The commander-in-chief stressed the urgent need for Ukraine to strengthen its artillery fire and once again addressed the issue to international partners.

As a Ukrainian media reported, Ukrainian armed forces eliminated around 43,400 Russian soldiers between February 24th and August 13th, including 200 on August 12th.
