48.5 Million User Data Leaked From Shanghai QR Code

On August 12th, according to Chinese media, Shanghai QR code database is suspected to be leaked. 48.5 million user data from Shanghai QR code have been packaged for sale online. The data package includes user’s cell phone number, name, ID number, type, Universal Unique Identification (UUID). The type here refers to the Red/Yellow/Green QR code. The Green QR code is marked as “admission”. The user data package selling price was initially labelled at USD4850 and was later reduced to USD4000.

Shanghai QR code is a mobile application promoted by the Shanghai municipal during the pandemic that all locals, travelers from other provinces and foreign countries are requested to download the application. The Shanghai QR code is used in every aspect of life, including shopping, dining, lodging and transportation. All the public places in Shanghai have this QR code and anyone wants to enter has to scan the QR code with their mobile phone. Hence, users’ personal life track is clearly recorded in the application.

Henan provincial administration used to issue Red QR Code for all the bank depositors who are victims of bank fraud so that they are unable to travel around to make appeals. Hence, the health QR code and Shanghai QR code are nothing short of modern electronic shackles that the CCP regime can utilize it freely to detain, control and even starve the people.
