U.S. Warship Crosses Taiwan Strait to Conduct Cruise Operations

According to a report on August 8th, although the Chinese navy has just conducted live-fire exercises, U.S. warships will continue to pass through the Taiwan Strait to carry out its military deployment of “freedom cruise” in the Indo-Pacific international waters.

After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) dispatched a large number of ships and military aircraft to start a series of harassment exercises around Taiwan that day, the U.S. Department of Defense stated that no matter how the Chinese authorities try to undermine the status quo in the Taiwan Strait, the U.S. military will work with its allies and Taiwan to jointly safeguard the freedom of navigation in the Indo-Pacific waters.

Since House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan triggered a confrontation between China and the U.S., the U.S. Navy’s Nimitz-class nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan and the amphibious assault ship USS Tripoli have been ordered to cruise in the waters of the Taiwan Strait, in order to disrupt the possible invasion war launched by the Chinese military, especially the missile attack on the island of Taiwan.
