CCP Media Machine Claims President Yoon Suk-Yeol Exhibited “An Independent Diplomatic Policy” In Direct Contrast To Japan

On 9th August 2022, as reported by CCP Central Daily News: Chinese media interpreted that South Korean President Yoon Suk-Yeol did not choose to meet with U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi amid her recent South Korea Tour as an act of independent diplomacy.

On the same day, the two foreign ministers from China and South Korea met in Qingdao. The official newspaper of CCP, “China People’s Daily”, as well as its English outlet, Global Times, have issued an editorial, titled “South Korea will be respected if she continues with such self-determined independent foreign policy”.

This article specifically pointed out that although Pelosi visited South Korea after her Taiwan trip, President Yoon Suk-Yeol has not met with her. The people of CCP China consider it sensible behavior that South Korea conducted such an independent, self-determined diplomatic policy in direct contrast to that of Japan.

The article also commented on South Korea joining the US-led Chip 4 semi-conductor supply chains Alliance, saying: If South Korea has been forced to participate in this U.S.-founded group, the “international community” hopes South Korea could play her part in ensuring balance and apply corrective action appropriately. This also will illustrate South Korea’s value on the International Stage.
