Japan Slams the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)’s Military Exercises Near Taiwan

According to a media report on Aug 5th, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida called on the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to stop live-fire military exercises near Taiwan during a meeting with speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi on Friday. Kishida said the exercises were a “serious issue” that affects Japan’s national and regional security.

The CCP authorities reacted angrily to Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan this week and launched a massive display of force in the waters and airspace surrounding the island on Thursday, and a total of five CCP’s missiles landed in Japan’s exclusive economic zone.

Japan expressed alarm over CCP’s tough stance in the region, and on Wednesday signed a joint statement by the foreign ministers of the G7 economies, which said “threatened actions” by CCP authorities could lead to “unnecessary escalation.

”Taiwan’s Defense Ministry said the CCP continued aggressive military exercises around Taiwan on Friday, with multiple planes and ships crossing the centerline of the Taiwan Strait in a rare incursion.
