NATO Member States Cooperate with Defense Companies Enhancing Ukraine Weapon Supplies

On Aug 4th, NATO secretary general Jens Stoltenberg said NATO member states were developing close cooperation with defense companies to ensure Kyiv could obtain additional supplies of weapons and equipment and make long-term preparations for its war with Moscow.

When addressing local Labor party activists in Norway on the same day, Stoltenberg separately said Russia’s invasion of Ukraine created the most dangerous moment for Europe since World War Two. He also condemned Putin’s reckless and dangerous rhetoric regarding the potential use of nuclear weapons. While NATO member states were not directly involved in the war, the bloc closely coordinated the western response to the aggression, including boosting arms supplies to Ukraine. Nevertheless, Stoltenberg reaffirmed that the war would end only after negotiations between belligerent parties.

In recent months, the U.S. and its western allies have begun delivering more advanced conventional weapons systems to Ukraine, including High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems with a more extended range and precision. The war in Ukraine has gotten stuck in the current stalemate.
