U.S. Chief of Staff: Communist China Pose Huge Threat in Indo-Pacific Region

According to a report on July 24th, Mark Milley, chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff and the first to visit the Indo-Pacific region since 2008, said that over the past five years, the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) aircraft and ships have intercepted aircraft and ships of America, Japan, Canada, Australia, the Philippines and Vietnam in the Pacific with an “amazing increase”, and the number of unsafe interactions has also risen remarkably. Which shows that PLA has become significantly more aggressive and more dangerous in this particular area, both in the air and at sea.

Communist China has been trying to expand its presence and influence in the Indo-Pacific region, which has caused international concern time and time again, since the dictatorship is completely malicious. The U.S. Government is working to strengthen military and security ties with Pacific nations to counter Beijing, and the Biden administration regards the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) as its “imminent threat” and a major long-term security challenge for America.

In recent months, U.S. Secretary of Defense Austin and Secretary of State Blinken, as well as senior U.S. Government officials, have made many shuttle visits to the Asia-Pacific region. Milley’s trip to the Indo-Pacific will focus on the threat of Community China. This week, Milley will meet with General Andika Perkasa, the commander-in-chief of the Indonesian National Army.
