Hong Kong to Ease Chaotic Travel Restrictions

According to a report on July 7th, Hong Kong government announce that it is ending a controversial ban on airlines found to have transported virus-infected passengers, easing the chaotic restrictions imposed by the local authorities.

Since the beginning of the year, Hong Kong has suspended over 100 flights due to onerous travel restriction. Lifting the restriction would allow much free entry and bring back citizens stranded overseas.

The restriction imposed by the authority included the measures such as, flight cancellation if 5 or over passengers tested positive before boarding. Early this year, the restriction could see flight cancel up to two weeks, causing airline companies difficulties to operate Hong Kong flights.

The updated travel policy will still include one week quarantine for incoming travellers. Local government added that they would seek to reduce inconveniences for international travel and implement measures to support economy recovery.
