NATO Sees Communist China and Russia as Biggest Threat, Expands Membership to Counter

North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg addressed the media at the NATO Summit on June 29, 2022. Stoltenberg said that we meet in the most serious crisis we have faced since the Second World War. We will agree to a fundamental shift in our deterrence and defense. We will make the biggest reform of our collective defense since the end of the Cold War and expand its membership.

The Russian invasion of Ukraine has made EU countries aware of the security threat and prompted NATO to provide Ukraine with massive military and civilian aid on a scale not seen since the Cold War.

Russia will be declared the number one threat by NATO. Communist China has repeatedly refused to condemn the Russian invasion of Ukraine and keeps strengthening its military alliance with Putin. NATO will also include how to deal with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Regime’s growing economic and military influence in NATO’s strategic plan.

In response to Russian and CCP Regime threats, NATO has decided to increase its security and defense force from 40,000 to 300,000 by the end of this year.

The leaders of the 30-nation alliance also made a historic decision to invite Sweden and Finland to become members of NATO in response to the imminent threat from Communist China and Russia. This is the fastest admission of members to NATO in history.
