Thai Health Minister Tested Positive for Covid-19 Despite Six Vaccine Shots

On June 28th, Public Health Permanent Secretary Dr. Kiattibhoom Vongrachit revealed that Minister of Public Health Anutin Charnvirakul tested positive for the CCP virus. Anutin led a delegation to the General Assembly of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) in Paris. After returning to Thailand, Anutin developed muscle soreness and sore throat and later was tested positive for the Covid-19 with an antigen test kit (ATK) test.

According to a preliminary investigation, he was infected because he was in contact with many people while participating in a foreign conference and shook hands with others. Before departure, Anutin received a sixth booster dose of the CCP virus vaccine. Currently, he has a mild infection and needs to be isolated for a week to observe the symptoms, and he does not need to go to the hospital for treatment.

It is reported that Anutin received the first and second doses of the Kexing vaccine, the third and fourth doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine, and the fifth and sixth doses of the Pfizer vaccine.
