Zelenskyy Discussed Ukraine’s Post-War Reconstruction With IMF Managing Director

On Apr 17th, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he had discussed Ukraine’s financial stability and post-war reconstruction with the managing director of International Monetary Fund (IMF), Kristalina Georgieva.
According to the forecasts of World Bank (WB), Ukrainian GDP would decline by 45.1% in 2022. If the war continued, the loss would be exacerbated.
Zelenskyy said in a tweet that Georgieva and he had clear plans as well as a vision of prospects. He is sure that cooperation between the IMF and Ukraine would continue to be fruitful. Georgieva confirmed and responded positively to Zelenskyy’s tweet, saying support from Ukrainian allies is essential to lay the foundations for rebuilding a modern competitive Ukraine.
In addition, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said earlier he would attend the IMF and WB meetings in Washington this week and seek more financial assistance for Ukraine.
