Lindsey Graham, the Republican chief congressman of the US Senate Budget Committee, led a delegation to visit Taiwan on a US military aircraft. On the morning of the 15th, the delegation met with the President Tsai Ing-wen at the Presidential Palace, and Graham emphasized that the United States will actively respond to China’s increasingly provocative actions against Taiwan, adding that “to abandon Taiwan would be to abandon freedom and democracy.”

The members of the delegation include: Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ), Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee; Richard Burr (R-NC), Republican Chief Senator of the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee; Robert Portman (R-OH), Republican Chief Senator of the Homeland Security Committee. When the Communist China becomes more provocative against Taiwan, how should the United States respond? We believe if we cherish everything we love, we will definitely respond positively to it. He emphasized that abandoning Taiwan would be abandoning freedom and democracy, and it would be abandoning free trade. This is a very significant regret for all of humanity.

Graham also mentioned the contrasting reactions between the Communist China’s Government and the people of Taiwan in the Ukraine’s situation, and that it was time to make them pay a heavier price for what the Communist China has done to the world.
