Russian Troops Imprisoned and Gang-raped Ukrainian Girls for a Long Time

According to media reports on April 12, local time, Ukrainian human rights observers reported that a group of Ukrainian girls between the ages of 14 and 24 had been imprisoned by Russian troops for up to 25 days in a basement in the town of Bucha, on the outskirts of Kyiv. During this period, the Russian army carried out brutal gang rapes against them every day.

In addition, there is ample evidence that Russian soldiers committed crimes such as rape, indiscriminate killing, and robbery against many innocent Ukrainian women during the war of aggression against Ukraine, causing the vast majority of them to suffer irreparable harm. Some local residents confirmed that the Russian army not only ransacked his residence but even raped and killed a Ukrainian woman in the cellar of her home.

In this regard, the chairman of the Ukrainian human rights organization Kateryna Cherepakha accused the United Nations Security Council that the Russian army has regarded rape as a weapon used in Ukraine, and all the existing evidence is just the tip of the iceberg of Russian atrocities. At the same time, Ukraine’s ambassador to the United Nations, Sergiy Kyslytsya, also informed the Security Council that the country’s Prosecutor General’s Office has launched an investigation into the violence against Ukrainian women by the Russian army.

According to UN Women’s Executive Director Sima Bahous, the increasingly frequent incidents of rape and sexual violence in the Russian-Ukrainian war have sent a very dangerous signal to the world that the Russian military is taking an extremely brutal approach to Ukrainian civilians.
