Biden’s Poland Speech: Ukraine Stands Firm, Russian Will Never Win

U.S. President Joe Biden said in a speech in Warsaw, Poland, on Sunday that Kyiv “stands strong” and that “Russia will never prevail over Ukraine.”

“A dictator bent on rebuilding an empire will never be able to ease [erase] the people’s love of liberty. Brutality will never grind down the will of the free.” Biden said: “Kyiv stands strong. Kyiv stands proud. It stands tall. And most importantly, it stands free.” Biden also echoed Russian President Vladimir Putin’s anti-Western remarks in his State of the Union address earlier on the 21st. Biden said: “The West was not plotting to attack Russia. President Putin’s craven lust for land and power will fail, and Ukraine will win. We stand up for democracy. We stood up for the victims of this aggression. We will continue to stand up and do whatever it takes to keep things going.” Biden said Putin “thought autocrats like himself were tough and leaders of democracies were soft, and he met the iron will of America and the nations everywhere”, and “Our support for Ukraine will not waver, NATO will not be divided, and we will not tire.”
