U.S. Senator Says CCP is the “Challenge That Will Define the 21st Century”

At a press conference at the Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China (IPAC) Summit on September 13, U.S. Senator Marco Rubio argued that confronting the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is ” the challenge that will define the 21st century” and called on the world’s democracies to pay attention to the serious threat posed by the expanding totalitarian state.

IPAC is an international coalition designed to help legislators craft a proactive and strategic approach on issues related to the P.R. China. Rubio told the summit that the Communist Party does not believe in simple principles such as freedom of religion, the right to free speech, and democratic elections, and that even the rule of law has to be bent to the party’s demands. As a result, the evil regime acts in a manner inconsistent with democracy and even basic moral principles.

Rubio said that at such a moment of global awakening, there is a realization that the planet is threatened by a totalitarian bloc that is trying to redefine the world order on its own terms, a totalitarian alliance. The preference for destroying all the world’s institutions and norms to achieve this ambition has undoubtedly constituted a prominent geopolitical issue of the 21st century. The Russian-Ukrainian war was the first confrontation between the totalitarian group led by Communist China and the world’s democracies, an unfortunate but necessary battle between the forces of freedom and tyranny, between the forces of good and evil.

Rubio warned that the CCP uses trade rules for its own benefit and does not abide by any international laws and norms. The refusal to abide by any rules defines the dictatorship’s relationship with the rest of the world. If the CCP strives for global dominance, especially if it achieved it’s long-term ambition to conquer Taiwan, the world will face catastrophic consequences.
