The UK, US Call on CCP to Immediately Stop ‘Atrocities’ in Xinjiang and Demand Accountability

According to various reports, after the United Nations reported on the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP’s) crimes against humanity in Xinjiang, the United Kingdom and the United States called on the CCP to immediately stop the atrocities in Xinjiang and demanded the perpetrators be held accountable.

UK: “We will work with international partners to change CCP’s actions”

British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss said on Thursday that Britain will continue to work with international partners to seek changes in Communist China’s behaviour.

Truss, who is expected to be the next UK prime minister, said: “This report … provides new evidence of the alarming extent of China’s repression of Uyghurs and other ethnic minorities in Xinjiang. We will continue to work with international partners to change China’s actions to immediately end its egregious human rights abuses in Xinjiang.”

US: “We call on the CCP to immediately stop atrocities, allow independent investigations into Xinjiang, and demand accountability”

Secretary of State Antony Blinken said in a statement that the report authoritatively described China’s “appalling treatment” of ethnic and religious minorities.

Blinken said the Xinjiang human rights report deepens and reiterates the U.S.’s serious concerns about the ongoing genocide and crimes against humanity by Chinese authorities against the predominantly Muslim Uyghurs and members of other ethnic and religious groups in Xinjiang.
