Taiwan Dispelled CCP Drone in its Waters of Kinmen

Taiwan’s Kinmen Defense Command stated on August 30th, a People’s Liberation Army (PLA) drone entered waters in the Kinmen Erdan area, Taiwanese defenders shot live fire at the PLA drone and drove it away by force. So far, the Chinese authorities have not responded.

According to a spokesman for the Ministry of Defense, from 4:23 p.m., three PLA drones were found entering the Dalian, Erdan, and Shiyu areas, respectively. At 5:59 p.m. A PLA drone once again entered the airspace above the restricted waters in the Erdan area, and the defenders followed the procedures to issue warnings. As the drone continued to hover, the Taiwanese army carried out live-fire defense shooting to drive it away. The drone then flew away in the direction of Xiamen at 6 pm.

Recently, the CCP has frequently used civilian drones to invade Kinmen, Matsu, and other defense zones. Taiwan’s President Tsai Ing-wen ordered on the 30th, that the national army can fight back firmly against PLA drones in a timely manner to defend national airspace security. Observers believe that recently, the CCP has continued to harass Taiwan, first hitting a Taiwanese patrol vessel with a fishing boat and then using civilian aircraft to photograph Taiwan’s defenders, showing an ugly face of a rogue. The Taiwan Army also responded with live-fire to guard the territory, and the possibility of gunfire in the Taiwan Strait seems to be increasing.
