CCP Navy Ship Invades Japan Territorial for the 6th Time Since April

Japan’s Ministry of Defense announced on July 20th that it confirmed that a Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) navy ship had intruded into Japan’s territorial waters around Yakushima Island in Kagoshima Prefecture. This is the sixth CCP’s Navy ship to invade the territorial waters since April. The Ministry of Defense will continue to be vigilant in monitoring and analyzing the purpose of the navigation.

According to Ministry of Defense sources, a CCP’s Naval survey ship was navigating in the connecting waters south of Yakushima at around 6:50 p.m. on July 20th at around 8:00 p.m., the survey ship intruded into Japanese territorial waters.The Maritime Self-Defense Force Mashu-class supply ship and the P1 patrol aircraft belonging to the Kaya base gather information, guard and monitor, that the survey ship stayed for about three and a half hours before leaving the west of Kuchinoerabu Island at about 11:30 p.m. on July 20th and headed west.

This is the sixth time since April that CCP’s Naval vessel has invaded the territorial waters. The Ministry of Defense will continue to be vigilant and surveillance and is analyzing in detail the purpose of this navigation, saying that the CCP’s Naval is actively invading the territorial waters.

Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno expressed concerns through diplomatic channel.

At a press conference in the morning, Chief Cabinet Secretary Matsuno said Japan will continue to pay close attention to the past movements of CCP’s Naval ships in the waters around Japan. In addition to monitoring through Maritime Self-Defense Force frigates and expressing concern through diplomatic channels, we will take all possible precautionary measures and surveillance activities.
