Conflict of Interest: Pfizer Director and Reuters CEO Serves as WEF Anti-Corruption Initiative Board Member

Jim Smith, who serves on the board of the World Economic Forum’s Partnering Against Corruption Initiative, is also a director of Pfizer and CEO of Thomson Reuters, according to a foreign source. His positions at the pharmaceutical giant and mainstream media appear to be a conflict of interest, thus sparking controversy.

“It is one of the Forum’s strongest cross-industry collaborative efforts and is creating a highly visible, agenda-setting platform by working with business leaders, international organizations and governments to address corruption, transparency and emerging-market risks,” a WEF synopsis explained.

Prior to Smith’s deeply involvement in the WEF, Reuters regularly covered Pfizer, even with tens of thousands of stories promoting or mentioning Pfizer, but these articles never disclosed Smith’s relationship with the two companies. Smith as a board member of the WEF’s Partnering Against Corruption Initiative, has been described as “a leading business voice on anti-corruption and transparency.”

He has contributed articles on the WEF website, including Corruption and the Erosion of Trust which published in 2017.

In this article, Smith bemoans loss of trust in mainstream media among public, he wrote: “The widespread perception that institutions—both public and private—are not acting in the interests of the people they serve pervades the thinking of communities across the globe. News organizations, which have historically served as the watchdog for governments and business leaders, are less trusted by the public than ever before.”

He also wrote: “Public confidence has been corroded by a concentration on near-term priorities and payoffs, propelled by election-cycle politics or quarterly results targets that too often leave children worse off than their parents.”

Although during his tenure as one of the leading members of the WEF, he has publicly expressed concern about the public’s loss of trust in mainstream media outlets. However, this has not changed the fact that the FDA and Pfizer have been trying to delay the release of documents on the efficacy of the CCP virus (COVID-19) vaccines.

In addition to this, the WEF has been accused of using the CCP virus to advance its “Great Reset” agenda, and to promote its radical agenda of abolishing private property ownership.
