FBI’s Warrant for “Cryptoqueen” Hints Zhao Changpeng’s Future

The FBI listed Ignatova, known as the “Cryptoqueen,” as one of its top 10 most wanted fugitives for a reward of $100,000, accusing her of defrauding investors out of $4 billion.

Onecoin reportedly did not have a private blockchain as advertised, and Ignatova defrauded investors and swept away large amounts of money through the same tactics as the Ponzi scheme. Ignatova, who has been missing since 2017, was charged in 2019 with eight crimes, including wire and securities frauds. FBI believes Ignatova has changed her appearance by cosmetic surgery and travels with guards adept at counter-surveillance.

The series of operations of the “Cryptoqueen” is reminiscent of Zhao Changpeng and his Binance. Miles Guo once said in a livestream that Zhao has been hunted down by various global forces, as Zhao helped the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) launder tens of billions of dollars. In an attempt to find a way out, Zhao also consulted plastic surgeons.
