Blinken’s Statement on the 25th Anniversary of the Handover of HK to the PRC was Blocked by WeChat Again

Earlier that day, both the White House National Security Council and the Congressional-Executive Commission on China (CECC) both issued statements on the 25th anniversary of the handover of sovereignty of Hong Kong, criticizing Beijing for undermining Hong Kong’s democracy and autonomy.

In the evening of July 1st, Wechat account “U.S. Embassy in China” released the article “Remarks of Secretary Blinken: Hong Kong 25 Years After Handover”, but it was immediately blocked by the WeChat Official Accounts Platform Operation Center.
