Employers are forced to accept candidates without direct experience

According to a report by the media CP24 on June 20, due to the general shortage of labor resources in Canada, most companies are willing to hire people without relevant work experience without any choice.

Canada’s unemployment rate fell to 5.1% in May, the lowest since 1976. In the face of labor shortages, experience and education, once critical to many jobs, are becoming less important. According to a recent online survey of 1,000 employers by the job site, 77% believe that a candidate’s interpersonal skills and learning attitude are more important than professional knowledge. 80% of employers said they would consider recruiting people without relevant degrees or certifications and provide on-the-job training.

While labor shortages are hitting all industries, talents with digital and information technology skills, project management, engineering, software development and coding skills are consistently the hardest to find.
