Egypt Abolishes Vaccine and Nucleic Acid Test Negative Certification

According to a report on June 21st, the Japanese Embassy in Egypt was informed that the Egyptian Government has decided to completely abolish the Egyptian entry restrictions related to Covid-19. Previously, it was mandatory to present vaccination certificate or a 72-hour negative certificate of nucleic acid test.

As well, the Egyptian Government’s announcement does not mention the specific start date and time of the removal of the entry restrictions, but as far as it is confirmed as of June 19, Emirates Airways, Etihad Airways and the website of IATA (International Air Transport Association) have already posted that the Egyptian entry restrictions have been lifted.

However, the embassy said that there is a possibility that the response will differ depending on the airline, and that the information is not thoroughly provided to the field officials of the Egyptian airport authorities, and the possibility of confusion cannot be ruled out. It is recommended to check with the airline in advance.
