The eastern Ukrainian city of Severodonetsk is at stake

According to a media report, on June 2nd, Serhiy Gaidai, governor of Luhansk, revealed that Russian forces controlled 70% of Severodonetsk, 10%-15% was a gray zone, and the rest held by Ukraine troops was under Russia’s constant shelling.
Governor Gaidai said their troops were still holding defensive lines, although Russian forces had occupied most city areas. There were fierce battles in progress in the south and west of Severodonetsk, where the humanitarian aid organizations were evacuating the civilians.
In addition, Oleksandr Motuzyanyk, spokesman for the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, pointed out that Russian troops have been in the heartland of Severodonetsk, placing Ukrainian defenders in an unfavorable situation. Lysychansk, located on a hill near Severodonetsk, was still in the hands of Ukrainian forces who used the terrain to fend off invaders.
