Blinken Reiterates That America’s Long-Term Challenge Comes From Communist China

Secretary of State Antony Blinken reiterates at the Foreign Affairs Magazine’s Centennial Celebration on June 1 that the most serious long-term challenge is posed by the People’s Republic of China and says he will align with allies to jointly deal with some objectionable action or conduct by China.
The U.S. is committed to a liberal international order, but the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is intent on undermining that order, and the U.S. and its allies are firmly opposed to it, Blinken said.
On May 26, Blinken delivered a policy address to the CCP regime, stating that the U.S. does not rely on Beijing to change its own trajectory, but will shape the strategic environment around Beijing to advance our positive vision for an open, inclusive international system. He also emphasized that the American people have great respect for the Chinese people and the U.S.’s profound differences are between the governments and systems, not between the people. Subsequently, Blinken’s speech was censored across the CCP’s domestic network. The U.S. Embassy in Beijing issued an official tweet confirming the news that the CCP blocked the speech.
