NATO Would Discuss The Prospect Of Finland and Sweden’s Accession

According to Reuters on Apr 7th, a senior US State Department official revealed that the prospect of Finland and Sweden’s accession to NATO was part of the discussion between foreign ministers of the military alliance in Brussels this week.

The report also mentioned that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine prompted the two Nordic countries to consider joining the US-led alliance. In this regard, the US official said the alliance’s open door remained open and there was discussion about that potential candidacy.
