Sec. Austin: US Giving Intel To Ukraine For Operations In Donbas

“On April 7th, U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin said publicly before a House Armed Services Committee hearing that the US is providing intelligence to help Ukraine carry out attacks against Russia in the Donbas region.

Secretary Austin testified before the hearing that US provided intelligence to Ukrainian forces in Donbas; and this was the first time a US official has acknowledged the US role in Ukraine’s fight against Russia.

Washington provided Ukrainian forces with near real-time military intelligence about Russia, which helped the Ukrainian side conduct an effective counterattack, the source said.

In addition, according to NATO’s estimation, six Russian major generals, a number of senior officers, and several media journalists have been killed since the start of the Russia-Ukraine war. Meanwhile, up to 40,000 Russian soldiers have been wounded, killed or captured in the fight. Russian forces are currently losing more than a quarter of their initial troops.Last month, the White House did acknowledge that the US has sent “a significant amount of detailed, timely intelligence” to Ukraine regarding Russia’s plans and movements.”
