Biden warns that Putin in a desperate situation

According to “NBC” report on March 22, US President Biden warned that Russian President Vladimir Putin may now use chemical weapons in Ukraine because he is “in a desperate situation.” The Russian leader has tightened his grip at home while stoking fears that he could pursue a more aggressive strategy abroad, with Alexei Navalny, a leading Kremlin critic, sentenced to maximum security 9 years in prison on Tuesday.

Biden will travel to Europe this week as the West supports Kyiv over Moscow in a war that has been going on for nearly a month and has now forced more than 3.5 million people to flee Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reiterated his call for direct talks with his Russian counterpart, saying cities across the country had been bombed beyond recognition. But even as the humanitarian crisis worsened, Ukraine stubbornly resisted Russian demands to hand over Mariupol, where civilians have been trapped and bombed for weeks in the strategic port city.
