Germany’s New Foreign Minister Will Take a Hard-Line Stace Towards Communist China

On December 25th, after the Chinese University of Hong Kong and Lingnan University demolished two statues related to the Tiananmen Square June 4th incident on campus overnight on the 24th, the creator of the two statues – Chinese-American sculptor Mr. Chen Weiming said in an interview that he was very shocked by this, and commented that this practice by the two universities is very despicable, and he would sue through legal channels across the border.

Mr. Chen said that the Chinese University of Hong Kong had never obtained his prior consent for the demolition of Goddess of Democracy Statue and Lingnan University’s removal of the relief of the Tiananmen Massacre, nor he had received notice from these schools afterwards. This was a completely premediated and planned act of persecution. He emphasized that these two works were only loaned out to the “The Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements of China” organization, and then transferred to the two schools for display on campus, and he is still the owner of these artworks. Mr. Chen also said that he will defend his rights through legal channel. Regardless of the Hong Kong Communist Government, or the schools, if the group who carried out the demolition deliberately damages these artworks, he will demand the U.S. to sanction all responsible personnel, and freeze their assets in the U.S.
