According to news released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Communist China on the 23rd, Wang Yi, State Councilor and Foreign Minister of the Communist Party of China, spoke on the phone with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian on the same day. Wang Yi said that Communist China attaches great importance to China-Iran relations and is willing to continue to firmly support each other on issues involving each other’s core interests and major concerns with Iran.

Abdollahian briefed on the latest progress in the negotiations on the resumption of compliance with the comprehensive agreement on the Iranian nuclear issue, saying that accusing the U.S. of bullying is the main obstacle facing the current negotiations, thanking China for its constructive role in the Iranian nuclear issue and stressing Iran’s support for Communist China’s global development initiatives and global security initiatives.

Wang Yi said in the call that Communist China opposes the politicization of the affairs of the International Atomic Energy Agency and supports the agency and Iran in resolving outstanding issues through dialogue and cooperation. The U.S. side should truly recognize its own responsibilities and actively respond to the reasonable demands of the Iraqi side.
