CCP’s Officials to Be Excluded from Social Media Platforms

On June 14, the U.S. House of Representatives roll-out the Communist China Social Media Reciprocity Act to stop social media providers from offering media resources Chinese Communist Party (CCP)’s senior officials.The targets banned by the Act are individuals and entities in specific sectors of Communist China, including members and senior officials of State Council, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of National Defense. The Act also required the Biden administration to carry out supervision to ensure that social media platforms, such as Twitter, Facebook and YouTube, cannot offer services to those sanctioned individuals or entities.

The legislator said: The CCP prohibits its citizens from using overseas social media platforms, but senior officials of the regime use these platforms to spread disinformation deliberately. However, these big technology companies reject to stop these illegal activities of the CCP. Therefore, the legislation is crucial to establishing a legal and fair the competitive environment.
