Unveiling The New Russian McDonald’s

On May 16th, McDonald’s announced that it withdrew from the Russian market that it operated more than thirty years. It is reported its Russian business partner Alexander Gover would take over the business. Approximately 850 McDonald’s chain restaurants will be sold and the new brand and new logo will be adopted after the operation resume.

Recently the Russian McDonald’s new logo has unveiled, it involved a stylized orange burger, two yellow french fries and a green background. The restaurant is launching an advertising campaign, in which the new logo will be used.

This Russian company claimed that both the orange burger and yellow french fries in the new logo are in the McDonald’s classic menu, the green background stands for the product and service quality. Previously the head of Russia McDonald’s claimed on June 7th that about 200 chain stores will reopen under the new logo in Ruass starting from the end of June, while the first 15 outlets will be open on June 12th in Moscow.

The agreement between Govor and McDonald’s stipulated that all outlet in Russia are not allowed to use the McDonald’s logo, including the company name and things associated with the McDonald’s brand. At the same time McDonald’s reserves the rights to buy back its Russian chain restaurants within 15 years.

Govor hopes all restaurant outlet can be reopened within two months and expanded to 1000 branches with the current 850 branches. McDonald’s previously said that logo will be removed in the Russian market and estimated a loss of 1.2 billion to 1.4 billion for exiting the Russia Market.
