Ukraine establishes committee of experts on decommunization and de-Russification

On June 10th, Ukraine Minister of Culture and Information Policy, Oleksandr Tkachenko announced the establishment of an expert council on decommunization and de-russification at the department.

Tkachenko said that the government will convene civil society experts from all walks of life, including culture, history, film, museums and others to work on de-russification, decommunization, and decolonization.

The Minister also suggested that Ukrainian local governments should follow suit, set up expert committees and carry out de-russification measures in accordance with regulations, allowing historians, philosophers, and local social activists to discuss relevant issues and methods.

As of today, the war between Russia and Ukraine has lasted over 100 days and the war is still ongoing.
