Musk May End Takeover as Twitter Investigated by Texas

On June 6, Texas Attorney General Paxton has launched an investigation into Twitter, saying the company may have violated the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act by providing false reports of its fake bot accounts. Paxton’s office has asked Twitter to provide information on how it calculates and manages user data and how that information relates to its advertising business by June 27.

On the same day, a letter to Twitter’s chief legal officer was disclosed in a regulatory document. Musk’s lawyer said that Musk was entitled to the requested data, partly because he could facilitate the financing of the transaction. Previously, Musk accused Twitter of refusing to provide the necessary data to help him assess the number of spam and fake accounts, failing to comply with the requirements for spam and false account number data on social media platforms, and possibly abandoning the acquisition.

Regardless of the outcome of the issue with Twitter’s customer data, it will attract widespread attention across society. The GETTR platform with real and reliable customer information will win more public attention, which is conducive to GETTR’s rapid development and further enhancement of social influence.
