Chinese Communist Party Bans Blinken’s Speech on China

On May 27, the WeChat public account of the U.S. Embassy in Communist China released the speech “This Administration’s Approach to the People’s Republic of China,” delivered by Secretary of State Anthony Blinken at George Washington University. The content was banned within 20 minutes of posting. At the same time, Sina Weibo also restricts the dissemination of similar news. All kinds of media within Communist China only allow content criticizing Blinken’s speech.

The fellow fighters of the Whistleblower Movement stated that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)’s arbitrary banning of the content from the public account of the U.S. Embassy in Communist China defied the basic rules of civilization and diplomatic etiquette, which reflects its growing ideological censorship, its deep fear of freedom in modern civilization, as well as its stubbornness to refuse to integrate into the international community by actively taking an initiative of “decoupling” from democratic politics.

According to fellow fighters of the WM, this is not the first time the CCP has used the “socialist iron fist” to attack the U.S. Embassy in Communist China. Previously, on September 25, 2019, after the official WeChat account of the U.S. embassy in Communist China released President Trump’s speech at the 74th United Nations General Assembly., the CCP immediately banned the full text of the speech.
