Britain Promises Further $375 Million In Military Aid For Ukraine

According to a local media report on May 2nd, the British government said in a statement on the same day that it will provide Ukraine with about military assistance worth of 300 million pounds, including electronic warfare equipment and anti-battery radar systems. In addition, night vision equipment, satellite navigation jamming tools, heavy drones and armored vehicles are also among the assistance.

It is reported that since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on February 24th of this year, the UK has provided Ukraine with more than 5,000 anti-tank missiles, five air defense systems, and other ammunition and explosives, with aid totaling more than £200 million. Meanwhile, by the end of April, the British government had issued more than 86,000 visas to Ukrainian refugees, of whom 27,000 had reached Britain.

And British Prime Minister Boris Johnson noted in a speech that the Ukrainians taught the world that the brute force of an aggressor counts for nothing against the moral force of people determined to be free. According to sources, the evacuated refugees also involved young Ukrainian children. They had spent every minute of their lives huddled in underground bunkers in Mariupol under heavy artillery fire from Russian forces earlier in the day.
